LITTLE HEARTS
Little heARTs is a process-based creativity incubation program that introduces preschool aged kids to foundational social skills through art and creative play. Classes are joyfully facilitated with a focus on building relationship through scaffolded experiences such group games, books, short engaging conversations, and explorative projects that help little ones cultivate self-awareness, social dexterity, and important growth mindset principles in a fun and accessible way.
This programming is dynamic and emergent to meet the interests, needs, and personalities of the little ones in our care. The art projects are designed with a focus on process rather than a specific outcome to help foster experimentation and to give students an opportunity to express themselves with a variety of artistic media.
The framework of this program follows the 5 principles of HEART. Little heARTs: have fun, explore new ideas, are kind + respectful, remember to help, and think with a growth mindset. This helps us establish a community with shared understandings of what matters most during class sessions. Ultimately, it creates flexibility with curating classes from our vast array of process-based projects, which makes each group as unique and special as every individual.
