Little heARTs brings hands-on art investigation to preschool and transitional kindergarten classrooms. Sessions focus on process over product, supporting fine motor development, early executive function skills, and a growth mindset. Similar to a Reggio Emilia approach, our class sessions are emergent to meet the needs and interests of your emerging artists. 

 

Program Goals:

1. Build Early Learner Skills: Open-ended art investigations give children hands-on practice with fine motor control, planning, and persistence. Story, play, and interactive discussion connect each project to important everyday skills.

2. Cultivate Curiosity: From bubble painting and finger painting to printmaking and mixed media, children explore materials, textures, and colors at their own pace, with low-pressure invitations to try, experiment, and discover.

3. Nurture Compassion and Connection: Guided by the five principles of HEART, we build a class community with shared understandings of what matters most in early childhood: compassion, curiosity, play, experimentation, and connection.
